I Tin't Imagine Living Without This App!
By Double Klondike (Pcmac user)
It was always frustrating to hear some low level voices when I was listening to Podcasts on my Macbook Pro and walked away to exercise other things. And, every bit might exist expected, music sounded tinny, but I didnt want to invest in computer speakers since my laptop is my 2nd floor computer and there isn't a lot of room where I use information technology. This app has resolved both volume level for Podcasts and improved the quality of music when I want to heed to Apple Music while I work. I hold with the other reviewer who says it should be included or recommended with the purchase of every Mac. Most of united states of america have quality speakers and/or headphones for serious music appreciation/listening. Only the choice of putting on headphones or purchasing redundant and pricey speakers for multiple areas of our workspace or homes where utilize our laptops is neither possible nor applied. Smash two fills that vast void between depression volume/ tinny sound; and Audiophile quality. Not only does the spoken give-and-take sound richer, clearer, with amplified volume, but Boom ii too adds enough quality to music to make it enjoyable. Being able to adjust the EQ for each, makes a huge deviation. Thanks!

Amazing! BUT...
By Saclet (Pcmac user)
I've had this app for years now. Just at present writing a review that'll become lost in the hundreds merely want to show my appreciation. This volition totally modify how audio sounds on your Mac. It'south especially apparent with headphones. If you lot've got weak headphones, this app will make them audio like a $200 pair. Your laptop'due south internal speakers are nevertheless limited of class, just you lot'll at least be able to make out the bass now! That said, if you do any sort of sound editing or mixing, particularly music, Do Non route your DAW/sound editor output through Smash. I do amateur production and e'er forget I've got the default settings and Boom going. Doing so will sound great, but when you lot play the audio anywhere else without Boom, it'll likely audio bad as you don't have Boom's equalization which is what you mixed to. Same reason y'all're unlikely to make a quality mix on non-studio headphones or monitors. Pretty obvious for almost amateur producers but for you Fruity Loopers, it's worth mentioning. :D

Buy it hither, not at their website
Past dualmacuser (Pcmac user)
I was a large fan of blast and boom2 but kept getting the DRM nag. So I decided to buy actress copies from their website, and approximate what? It's not only a dissimilar product, the audio effects are now an UPSELL. They took them away even though they call it the same product as hither. I bought their well-nigh expensive bundle and this was still the case. I requested a refund, will report them if I don't get it. I'll deal with the DRM nag, thankfully the sound furnishings were still in my app store version or I would have reported them to Apple. They've lost sight of their customers for sure. WITH REGARD to the response I received from the developer (presumably printed below) I did contact them at their website for a refund, TWICE, with no response. Find they took time to plug their new production and confused even which product I was talking about. Took time to defend their public reputation, still didn't reply backside the scenes. I won't carp asking a third time for a refund, I'll file a chargeback with visa and notify my bank.

The best there is
By MercenaryInk (Pcmac user)
I spend a great deal of fourth dimension working with my headphones on, and it always bugged me that many of my favorite albums sounded far worse from my Macbook than they did from other devices, fifty-fifty with a solid pair of headphones. Yep - digital audio is highly compressed, much more than then for streaming audio. But still - everything was far too flat and lacked depth. Blast completely changed that. I'm generally skeptical of EQ programs, but this is an absolute must-accept if you want quality sound. The upgrade to Boom 2 was also very much worth it - again, I didn't anticipate that much of an comeback over the initial app, just the wider array of presets + the greater manual customization are excellent. I can't imagine having to become dorsum to listening to my music on my Macbook without Smash.
